- Our journalist Kelly with former FA editor Dan Freedman
Youngsters who daydream about playing for England while in their school lessons were in their element this week.
Former FA journalist Dan Freedman – who has been to two world cups and interviewed all the footballing greats – spent a morning with students at New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, Essex.
His visit was to inspire the students to pick up a book and read, no matter what the subject. In between reading snippets from his series of football books and running a writing workshop, he answered students’ questions, signed their books and posed for photos…including one with our journalist Kelly, who acts as Media Consultant for the school!
We wouldn’t normally expect to see someone in our schools who has tattoos covering 85% of their body.
But, that’s what we found at one of our weekly visits to New Rickstones Academy and Maltings Academy, in Witham, Essex, recently.
The Scary Guy has been touring with Essex Police as part of his world mission to encourage people to stop judging each other and using cruel words.
In our role as Media Consultant for the two schools, we went along to one of Scary Guy’s motivational talks and secured this piece of publicity in local newspaper, the Essex Chronicle…Scary Guy comes to Witham
Students at one of our schools are getting a global education, thanks to a wealth of travel opportunities.
Several educational trips abroad have been snapped up by students at New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, where we act as Media Consultant.
Our article promoting the opportunities at the school, written by our journalist, appears in this week’s Essex Chronicle newspaper.

We continue our work to publicise numerous schools in Essex and Suffolk through PR.
We spend time in our schools, getting to know teachers and students and promoting their many projects and successes.
One such school is East Point Academy, in Lowestoft, Suffolk, where we produce their newsletter as well as providing PR services.
Here are a couple of our articles in their local newspaper, the Lowestoft Journal…

- KLC meets The Scary Guy (real name)
Today was one of those days we love our work more than ever.
Today, we met a man called The Scary Guy. Scary, as he’s legally named, has tattoos over 85% of his body and has his ears, eyebrows and nose pierced several times.
But, he is devoting his time to touring around schools – including my clients Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy, both in Witham, Essex – teaching children, teachers and parents it’s ok to be different and never to judge a book by its cover.
After watching his 90-minute presentation to students, we got to have a chat with this gentle giant!
We are delighted with news our journalist Kelly Clark has been awarded a Certificate of Merit at the Institute of Internal Communication Awards.
We provide regular copywriting services for numerous clients through our partner 44 Communications, including writing features for the staff magazine of Tarmac.
The certificate was awarded in the Writing category for a feature called Head to Head where two Tarmac employees spend time in each other’s role to fully understand their responsibilities.
We are delighted with this recognition and will proudly display the certifcate on our office wall! Take a look…IOIC certificate
It’s been an exciting week for our client New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, Essex, as they’ve moved into their new £25m facilities.
As Media Consultant for the school, we send our journalist to the school on a weekly basis to source news stories to release to the press.
This week’s article – written by our journalist – announcing the opening of the building has appeared in both of the school’s local newspapers, the Braintree and Witham Times and the Essex Chronicle.
