School not out for summer

Working heavily with schools, the summer time has often been slightly quieter for KLC.

But, as the years roll by, more and more activities are being organised by our schools to keep children entertained and occupied.

Our journalist went along to the summer school at client school Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, Essex, to see how the brand new Year 7 students were being introduced to the school before they start as full-timers in September.

We will also be covering summer activities at client schools in Witham as they offer alternative experiences for children who may otherwise be bored through the long school break.

These events give us more opportunities to gather extra positive publicity for our school clients.

We are therefore pleased to see our summer school article, written by our journalist, on the Harlow Star newspaper website…

We are told it will also appear in print in the next couple of weeks.

Here’s another of our articles for the same client school on the newspaper’s website…

If you know of a school which is doing lots of wonderful things, but not telling the world about it, please urge them to get in touch to discuss our flexible PR services –

Clear advice from optician client

Journalist Kelly gets style advice at D Glick Opticians (yes, she knows the sticker has to come off!)

Journalist Kelly gets style advice at D Glick Opticians (yes, she knows the sticker has to come off!)

You learn something new every day, as the saying goes. And when journalist Kelly visited our optician client Derek Glick, this proved to be true. Our journalist was putting together a feature on how important it is to strike the balance between function, comfort and style when buying glasses, when the optician offered her some advice. He rightly pointed out Kelly has a high bridge to her nose and so would need glasses to have a wider opening at the top to sit comfortably – this fully explained why our journalist finds wearing sunglasses so uncomfortable and she now knows what to look for when buying new ones. Genius!Take a look at the full article we have sent out to the press here… D Glick advises on glasses trends

Radio air time for school client

Delighted this week to have secured a chunk of radio air time on the popular Dave Monk breakfast show on BBC Essex for one of our school clients.

Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, Essex, has launched a course to inspire teenagers to take up a career in teaching.

Our journalist attended a launch meeting at the school, where we provide PR services, and released an article to the media.

The radio station’s producers responded by asking us to provide an interviewee for the show.

Have a listen to headteacher Helena Mills talking to Dave Monk on yesterday’s breakfast show, at 1.04.00 into the recording…

Practising what we preach: newsletters

We help clients all the time to communicate with their existing and potential customers, whether that be via PR, newsletters, brochures or websites.

It’s good to talk and that’s why we ensure we also send out the occasional newsletter to promote our own work and news.

Our latest email newsletter – detailing our work with schools and in the wedding industry, writing websites and producing brochures – was sent out to our database of hundreds of clients and contacts this week.

If you’re not on that list, take a look at the newsletter here and let us know if you’d like to subscribe to future mailings…

Website goes live with KLC content

We’re pleased to see a new website hit the worldwide web this month containing content written by our journalist at KLC.

We were contacted by web design company Biz Image, based in Hockley, Essex, looking for a copywriter to provide the content to complete their client’s new website.

Our journalist visited HPM Contracts, in Basildon, Essex, the very next day to enable the client to meet their tight deadline of going live just a couple of days later.

Take a look at the new website which has just gone live…

Great PR for wedding suppliers

Independent businesses can only survive with good publicity and recommendations.

That’s why, when journalist Kelly Clark got married recently, we took the opportunity to promote the many wonderful suppliers who made the wedding day special through our newspaper and magazine columns.

The latest column, in the I Do wedding supplement of the Essex Chronicle newspaper, promotes all the suppliers who provided the finishing touches to our journalist’s big day.

Schools benefit from positive PR

We love working with our client schools.

We act as Media Consultant for a number of schools in and around Essex, sending our journalist along regularly to find positive news stories to share with the local media.

Schools need to keep good reputations if they are to continue getting students to enroll each year and PR is a great way of keeping a school at the forefront of parents’ minds.

We are keen to add more schools to our books. If you work at a school which is doing lots of wonderful things, but nobody is promoting the work via the local press, please get in touch. We can work in a way to suit you and establish a service which works with your budget.
