EastEnders actress visits KLC school

We were thrilled last week to report on the visit of an EastEnders actress to one of our client schools.

Gillian Wright – who plays Jean Slater in the BBC soap – spent an entire day at Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, Essex, inspiring young actors.

Our journalist went along on the day and watched Gillian in action during her many workshops before interviewing her. We had also invited the local press along and welcomed journalists and photographers in to school.

Students who attend an after-school media club, run by our journalist, also got the opportunity to interview the star.

KLC article in The Parliamentary Review

We were thrilled to be asked to write a three-page article for this year’s The Parliamentary Review, Secondary Education Edition for 2013/14.

The Parliamentary Review

On behalf of our school client, Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, Essex, we produced the article to promote the good work the school is doing to turn around education in the town.

As the fourth most improved school in the country, our client has much to tell about how to turn a school from satisfactory to outstanding in just a matter of a few short years. Our journalist interviewed the school’s headteacher to gather the necessary information and quotes to produce the article which is now being read across the country by politicians and education specialists.

Just ten schools feature in the glossy publication, with our client being one of them.

We help schools earn positive publicity

A huge part of our work is to help schools to gain positive publicity in the local, national, onlineĀ and education press.

Schools need a positive reputation to survive and that’s where KLC steps in. Our journalist spends time on site, getting to know the schools and their stories, before writing articles to release to the media.

Our extensive contacts mean we are able to get stories into print in newspapers, magazines and on online news sites.
