Vital local press for client schools

School funds are allocated by numbers of pupils. Pupil numbers grow and are sustained by a school having a positive reputation. A positive reputation comes, in part, from positive publicity in the local media.

That is where KLC steps in.

We work with lots of school clients in Essex and London to secure positive publicity in their local publications to ensure their pupil numbers continue to grow.

Our journalist is in regular contact with our client schools to gather, write and distribute positive news articles to our contacts in the local and regional media outlets, from newspapers and radio channels to news websites.

National publicity for client’s journey of improvement

We work closely with lots of publication editors who regularly approach us to find case studies to fit their feature briefs.

We were recently asked by the editor of Teach Secondary, the national education magazine, to recommend a school they could visit to write a report on.

Our journalist took the editor to client school New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, Essex, where an impressive journey of improvement has taken place.

The visit resulted in some wonderful national publicity for our client, both in print in the magazine which is delivered to every school in the country and online.

Providing PR services to multi-academy trust

We hit the ground running in September when our school clients returned from the long summer break.

Our journalist carried out the usual monthly visits to multi-academy trust client BMAT‘s primary and secondary schools in Harlow, Epping and Stansted in Essex and Newham in London to gather positive news stories to share with the media.

September saw our client open the doors to its newest secondary school, Sir Frederick Gibberd College in Harlow, Essex. The news attracted interest from local news channel YourHarlow and regional television news programme BBC Look East

The opening also resulted in front page publicity in the local press…

School news magazines and internal communications

While schools produce prospectuses to communicate vital facts and figures with interested parents, we believe sharing lots of wonderful news stories is an even better way to sell a school.

That’s where our school news magazines come in. We produce eight or 16-page news magazines for our school clients, packed full with positive news articles and smiley photos of children achieving and happy.

For some of our multi-academy trust clients, we also handle their internal communications by producing an alternative news magazine with updates for colleagues across their organisation.

Take a look at just some of our recent publications, for Trinity Primary Academy in Wood Green, London; the Sigma Trust in north Essex; and Nightingale Academy in Edmonton, London…

At KLC, we take on the entire process of gathering and writing the content, collecting images, designing and printing the publications for our clients. All our clients have to do is approve the design before it goes off to print.

If your school or multi-academy trust could benefit from this kind of communication with existing or prospective parents or its employees, get in touch on words@kellylouiseclark.co.uk to discuss.
