Glowing testimonial from Hertfordshire Mercury senior editor

We were thrilled this week to receive this glowing testimonial as a result of providing six months of writing support to Herts & Essex News.

Our journalist Kelly Clark devoted time each week to producing content to fill pages on the Hertfordshire Mercury, Herts & Essex Observer and Harlow Star newspapers.

Senior editor Julie Palmer said: “Kelly worked as a reporter for Herts & Essex News and Media for an extended period during 2016.

“Her experience shone through and she proved to be a valuable member of the team, always producing accurate copy in a professional and timely manner.

“She received a number of emails of thanks from people she had written about, which is almost unheard of in this line of work!”

Thank you, Julie, for the kind words. It was our pleasure!

Brochure highly praised by client

There’s nothing better than a client telling you your work has earnt wonderful results.

We have worked with Maltings Academy, in Witham, Essex, for a number of years, providing weekly PR services.

Our journalist recently recommended they put the many positive news stories we write about them into a bright and colourful news brochure to share with their existing and prospective parents. We worked with one of our partner design agencies ( to produce their very first brochure of this type to be presented at their recent open evening.

Principal John Szynal was delighted with the results: “Just to let you know the new brochure you produced, Spotlight on Maltings, has been met with great acclaim from staff, students, parents and all visitors.
“On our open evening, they all went and I had lots of comments praising the magazine.” If you would like to discuss how simple it is to produce a brochure for your school or business, drop us a line at

High praise from school principal

We very much enjoy our work with our numerous school clients.

Acting as Media Consultant, our journalist spends a lot of time in schools, getting to know staff and students to find stories to release to newspapers, radio and television.

Schools know this work is important if they are to develop or keep a positive reputation and fill their places.

One school which wholeheartedly believes in the part KLC has to play in their success is Maltings Academy, in Witham, Essex.

We are delighted with the testimonial written by principal John Szynal. Take a look… Maltings Academy testimonial

A publicity first for school client

We’re absolutely delighted this week to have secured a publicity first for one of our school clients.

We offer PR services to Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, Essex, and regularly release positive news articles for them to the local press.

GCSE results day brought our most powerful opportunity to promote the school with them achieving a giant 16 per cent leap in this year’s results, making them top of the town.

The news was so impressive, we managed to secure the school a precious slot on local radio station BBC Essex’s popular Drivetime show.

Our client was delighted with the result. Deputy headteacher Charlie McCarthy said: “Thanks for everything Kelly and for setting up the radio interview. First time we’ve had that sort coverage so really good for the school.”

Listen here to headteacher Helena Mills being interviewed at time slot 1:25:36…

Our written article also takes pride of place on the school’s website…

Photographer’s a happy customer

We were delighted this week to receive some positive feedback from client Tina Hall Photography.

The company commissioned us to write the content for their brand new website. We spent time with the client, getting to know their business and ethos before copywriting the six pages of content.

Tina said of our work: “The words you have written are fantastic. So much better than I could ever have come up with. Thanks for all your help.”

We’re extremely pleased with this feedback and look forward to seeing the completed website online soon!

PR results in new members for club

PR Essex

Our article appears across the centre spread in the Go! section of the Essex Chronicle newspaper

We were delighted recently with the great publicity we secured for our client, Marconi Sailing Club, Essex.

They were keen to raise the club’s profile and attract new members by publicising an open day.

Our journalist spent time at the club to research and interview members for the article which was given two pages of coverage in the Essex Chronicle newspaper.

The club was also pleased after the open day resulted in 40 new members signing up.

Andrew Dowley, from the club, said: “We held our open day at Marconi Sailing Club, it was a great success with over 40 people filling in membership forms on the day. I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for the article in the Essex Chronicle. We have had members at the club running up to us saying how amazing it was. It also clearly worked for the event. Once again, thank you!”

Extended member of team

We have acted as Media Consultant for Greensward Academy, in Hockley, Essex, for more than two years. We regularly spend time on site, gathering news items to submit to the local media.

Headteacher Debbie Stokes provided us with this wonderful testimonial:

“Kelly has worked with Greensward Academy for the past two years to support us with publicity of our events and image in the community.

“Kelly is a very flexible member of our extended Greensward team and has produced well written articles in a very short time scale.  Due to her great contacts, her success rate with the local newspapers in getting these articles printed has been a huge improvement on any other press officer who has worked with Greensward over the years.

“I thoroughly recommend Kelly to you.”

Web client happy

What a lovely start to the week…a very happy customer!

KLC was commissioned by Fine Line Engineering, based in Braintree, Essex, to write text for their new website. Our journalist spent time on site, interviewing the client to copywrite 13 pages of text.

Client David Parlour said: “Apologies for not getting back to you sooner to let you know how pleased I am with your text. I am very pleased with what you have done for us. I’m sure that this will really emphasise and clarify the message we are sending.”

We are working closely with the website designer to ensure the whole site works for the client.

Kind words from charity

We are delighted to share a glowing testimonial from a happy client who benefited from our PR services.

We carried out a successful PR campaign for the UK’s only charity focusing on rare cancer, cholangiocarcinoma.

The AMMF charity was set up by Helem Morement, the wife of a man who died from this little-known disease. KLC carried out PR services for the charity to raise awareness around its ten-year anniversary, securing considerable space in several Essex newspapers.

Helen said: Kelly Clark’s expertise and help with AMMF’s recent press release was excellent. Her depth of knowledge on how to prepare a press release to catch an editor’s attention and her good contacts within the world of the local press is excellent and was instrumental in gaining coverage for the charity in three publications – something we had struggled to do before.  Kelly’s friendly professionalism makes her a pleasure to work with, and we would certainly recommend her.”
