Great feedback for KLC copywriting

It’s always great to know a client or partner is happy with the way we work here at KLC and the quality of writing we produce.

So, it was wonderful to not only hear charity client Helping Hands Essex was thrilled with our latest pieces of work for them – production of a leaflet and 12-page annual review – but also to receive TWO glowing testimonials to boot! These pieces of work follow an initial piece of PR work which earned extensive publicity for the growing charity.

Programme director of the charity, Graham Pooley, said:

Kelly has just completed a third piece of work for us and we have been delighted with the results. There is no doubt involving a professional is really worth it – in our relations with the local media, in distilling what we and our clients wanted to say and in ensuring that translated into high quality copy, for example for our just published Annual Review.”

Creative partner Graham Conway, who handled the design and print of the publications alongside KLC, said:

“Having been in the business for over 20 years now, I have come across three types of writers –  terrible, average and bl..dy good at what they do… Kelly is like a dream writer to work with, also very modest at that. Not only are her words brilliant, but she also helps us designers by working as a real team player, also getting into our heads and making design/words work in tandem.

“I could not recommend Kelly enough and look forward to working with her again…”

Charity’s profile raised by KLC article

We’re thrilled this week to have secured wonderful publicity for our newest client.

Helping Hands Essex is a charity which helps homeless alcoholics to stay sober and to develop a brighter future.

The charity enlisted the help of KLC to raise its profile and to give a more professional approach to all of its written publications which are used to attract funding support.

Using our contacts in the local media, we managed to secure this coverage for our client as part of a three page feature on alcohol problems in Chelmsford, where the charity is based.

Take a look at the article as part of the larger feature here…

We will also be working with the charity to provide a number of publications for their stakeholders and supporters.

Publicity for mum’s Macmillan Night In charity event

It was our pleasure to help a young mum to publicise her fundraising event in support of a charity which is helping her family through their cancer journey.

Macmillan Cancer Support has been urging supporters to hold a Night In throughout the month of May to raise much-needed funds for their vital work.

Annie Cain

Mum-of-three Annie Cain, of Harlow, Essex, has only recently begun her battle against breast cancer and wanted to hold a Macmillan Night In before she starts her chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions.

We were delighted to offer our services free of charge to spread the word and gain support for her fundraising mission.

Charity event promotes wedding blog

One of our projects is the wedding blog A Real Bride’s Guide (www.arealbridesguide.co.uk)

Our journalist Kelly – aka Mrs Robertson – writes the content for the site based on her own wedding planning experience and those of other brides. The blog also gives publicity to smaller wedding suppliers providing high quality products and services, but who may not be able to afford wedding shows or advertising.

Team Honk RelayKelly recently took part in the Sport Relief charity event, Team Honk Relay, completing the Chelmsford to Southwold leg of the person to person relay which will see 200 bloggers take part as the baton travels 3,000 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats.

The event not only raised the profile of the blog, but it also saw almost £500 donated to Sport Relief.

We managed to secure some great publicity for the event, in both local newspapers, the Essex Chronicle and Dunmow Broadcast, on BBC Essex radio station and online news channel About My Area.

PR steps for charity

A PR campaign close to our hearts is gathering pace.

The second-cousin of our journalist Kelly is battling leukaemia at the age of 18 months. A charity auction and sponsored walk have been organised to raise money for the charity supporting the family.

PR to raise profile of charity

We were only too pleased this week to write and distribute a press release for a worthy Essex charity.

The Brainwave Centre in Witham provides therapy for babies and children with developmental delay or brain injury.

In an effort to help raise the charity’s profile, a KLC journalist interviewed a mother whose family benefits from the centre to feature in a press article.

Kind words from charity

We are delighted to share a glowing testimonial from a happy client who benefited from our PR services.

We carried out a successful PR campaign for the UK’s only charity focusing on rare cancer, cholangiocarcinoma.

The AMMF charity was set up by Helem Morement, the wife of a man who died from this little-known disease. KLC carried out PR services for the charity to raise awareness around its ten-year anniversary, securing considerable space in several Essex newspapers.

Helen said: Kelly Clark’s expertise and help with AMMF’s recent press release was excellent. Her depth of knowledge on how to prepare a press release to catch an editor’s attention and her good contacts within the world of the local press is excellent and was instrumental in gaining coverage for the charity in three publications – something we had struggled to do before.  Kelly’s friendly professionalism makes her a pleasure to work with, and we would certainly recommend her.”
