GCSE results day – PR, web content and social media

GCSE results day is, without doubt, the busiest day in our calendar.

Working with many schools, we spend the weeks and days leading up to this important time ensuring our clients know exactly what we need from them and when so we get the very best possible publicity for them.

We collect the headline figures and quotes from our headteachers to release first thing on GCSE results day. Our journalists then spend the entire day meeting and interviewing students as they collect their results, picking up the very best human interest stories to help promote our client schools.

Take a look at the publicity we secured from GCSE results day this summer, including front page and page 3 coverage for client school BMAT STEM Academy

A-level results day – PR, web content and social media posts

A-level results day is one of the busiest times of the year for us at KLC as we work to promote our education clients.

In the weeks and days leading up to A-level results day in August, we prep our sixth form clients to provide us with all the information we need, when we need it, to enable us to secure the very best publicity from this important day.

We gather the headline results from our clients, as well as quotes from key staff before speaking with students as they collect their results to give plenty of human interest stories to sit alongside the figures.

Our journalist writes and releases press releases to the media first thing on A-level results day.

Providing PR services to multi-academy trust

As the school year drew to a close, KLC continued to find endless opportunities to promote our school clients in the media.

We act as PR manager to BMAT, the multi-academy trust with primary and secondary schools in Harlow, Epping and Stansted in Essex and Newham in London.

Our journalist spends two days each week visiting the schools, gathering and writing positive news stories to share with the local, national and education media.

The month of July saw our journalist report on various events, including a workshop with students at Burnt Mill Academy by leading actors from West End show Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

National publicity for two more KLC school clients this month

This month’s national education magazines feature articles from KLC promoting two more client schools.

We provide PR services to schools each week, sending our journalist into class to find the most newsworthy stories to write and share with the local, national and education media.

This month, a two-page feature written by our journalist to promote a specialist unit within client school Royal Docks Academy, in Newham, London, appears in Teach Secondary magazine.

In this month’s issue of Teach Primary magazine, we also secured a wonderful feature on client school Trinity Primary Academy, in Wood Green, London. We arranged for the magazine’s editor to visit the school and write a report on what he saw, resulting in a glowing three-page feature.

Glowing national publicity for school client

We work closely with editors of local, national and education publications and so when they are looking for schools to feature, it is KLC and our clients they turn to.

We recently welcomed the editor and photographer of national education magazine Teach Secondary to client school Nightingale Academy, in Edmonton, London.

As a result of the visit, organised by KLC, our client received a glowing three-page feature in the magazine which is delivered to every school in the country.

KLC is ten! Celebrating a decade in business

Having received the bombshell news of impending redundancy in January 2009, journalist Kelly Clark vowed to take her extensive skills to the masses.

Determined this would not be the end of her story, the writer began drafting out a whole new chapter.

Kelly Louise Clark, the PR and writing machine, was born the very next month. Ten years on, the company director is thrilled her roles as daily and weekly newspaper reporter and editor and magazine writer gave her the foundation she needed to offer a wide range of services to her clients.

Today, she is thrilled to be working with many of those clients who came on board at the very beginning and proud to be celebrating ten years in business within her 23-year journalism career.

She said: “Ten years, wow!

“I wanted to take the opportunity to take stock of the last ten years and, most importantly, to thank those of you who have been a part of that story.

“So, thank you, thank you. For keeping a roof over my family’s head, for giving me such a richly varied working life and for putting your faith in me to do a good job for you. And thank you to those partners who I rely on to help me to serve my clients well and to offer a smooth and seamless service.

“Here’s to the next ten years together!”

Kelly’s last full-time role was as deputy editor of five mid Essex weekly newspaper titles with Newsquest. Before that, she had been a reporter and news editor for large south Essex daily newspaper, the Echo, cutting her teeth as a 17-year-old trainee on the lively patch of Basildon. Other roles during her employed career included editor of the Met Police internal newspaper, The Job; news editor of the broadsheet weekly newspaper, the Surrey Mirror; and features writer for TVTimes magazine.
