Giving a national voice to school clients

Working with schools, we have a couple of goals we strive to achieve: we want to raise the profile of our schools locally and keep their reputations positive to encourage parents to apply for places; as well as giving our clients a voice on the national education scene.

This month, we have given that voice to two more of our client schools with publicity within the pages of national magazine Teach Secondary.

Our client Helena Mills CBE is CEO of BMAT multi-academy trust, with primary and secondary schools in Essex and London. She was keen to voice her views about social media and the place it has – or may not have – in the industry. We secured a whole page in the magazine for Helena to comment. Take a look here..

We are also regularly asked to provide mock lesson plans from experts around the industry to be shared in the magazine. This month, it was the turn of our client school Thomas Lord Audley School, in Colchester, Essex, giving the school a chance to share its expertise on a national scale. Have a read here…

School news magazines and internal communications

While schools produce prospectuses to communicate vital facts and figures with interested parents, we believe sharing lots of wonderful news stories is an even better way to sell a school.

That’s where our school news magazines come in. We produce eight or 16-page news magazines for our school clients, packed full with positive news articles and smiley photos of children achieving and happy.

For some of our multi-academy trust clients, we also handle their internal communications by producing an alternative news magazine with updates for colleagues across their organisation.

Take a look at just some of our recent publications, for Trinity Primary Academy in Wood Green, London; the Sigma Trust in north Essex; and Nightingale Academy in Edmonton, London…

At KLC, we take on the entire process of gathering and writing the content, collecting images, designing and printing the publications for our clients. All our clients have to do is approve the design before it goes off to print.

If your school or multi-academy trust could benefit from this kind of communication with existing or prospective parents or its employees, get in touch on words@kellylouiseclark.co.uk to discuss.

Providing PR services to multi-academy trust

Our journalist spends two days each week working with our client, BMAT.

We work with the Trust’s schools in Harlow, Epping and Stansted in Essex and Newham in London to find, write and distribute positive news stories.

In June, we secured four pages of national publicity for one of the Trust’s primary schools, Little Parndon, in Harlow, Essex.

National education publicity for school clients

We are often asked to provide mock lesson plans for the national education magazine Teach Secondary.

TV news slot for KLC school client

We were thrilled this week to see a news feature we organised broadcast on TV.

We arranged for a crew from BBC London to visit client school Royal Docks Academy, in Newham, London, to look at how their students with different nationalities are getting ahead of the game by securing GCSEs in their home languages.

The report was broadcast on TV over the Easter weekend. Take a look…

We handle publicity for Royal Docks and send our journalist into school each month to gather positive news stories to share with the media.

Our work with our school clients

We work with lots of school clients each week to secure positive publicity and to help them to communicate with their communities, with both internal communications and external PR.

As well as sourcing, writing and distributing positive news articles via press release, we also provide content for our schools’ websites and produce regular news magazines for parents, staff and stakeholders.

These are just a couple of our latest school news magazines – The Edge, for the community around Nightingale Academy in Edmonton, London, and Sigma News, with one version for parents across the schools within The Sigma Trust, an education Trust, in Essex and one for staff within the growing organisation…

Securing publicity for Nightingale Academy, London

We have been working with Nightingale Academy, in Edmonton, London, for the last year to help them to gain positive publicity in the local media.

Having struggled to secure as much newspaper coverage as they were keen for in the previous 18 months, they contacted KLC to help.

The last year has seen the school featured regularly in the local media – including a number of front page stories and an appearance on BBC news.

Preparing for a new school year

In just a few days’ time, our schools will once again be full of life and buzzing for a fresh new academic year ahead.

While the summer has meant a break for many students, our client schools have still been busy with summer schools, exam results days and training days which means we have been kept busy, too.

We work closely with schools in and around Essex and London to provide PR services, to produce news magazines and to fill school websites with stories and articles.

KLC launches another school news magazine

Another of our school clients has signed up to our news magazines.

We produce news magazines for a number of schools, helping them to share their good news and information with students, parents, prospective parents, teachers, staff, stakeholders and the community.

Nightingale Academy, in London, is the latest to commission KLC to produce a news magazine on its behalf.

Issue 1 is available all around the school and community now, while Issue 2 is being put together at the moment for the summer by our journalist, designer and printer.

Have a look at the content here… The Edge

We have also recently produced the eighth school magazine for Maltings Academy with partner school New Rickstones Academy, in Witham.

If your school could benefit from sharing its good news with its community, get in touch on words@kellylouiseclark.co.uk to find out how easy it is to hand the whole production over to KLC.

Front page publicity for KLC school client!

Thrilled today to have secured the front page of a new client’s local newspaper, earning them wonderful publicity.

We recently started working with Nightingale Academy, in London, with the mission of helping to boost the improving school’s reputation and, over time, increase student numbers.

The first step was to interview the principal who was brought in to the school 18 months ago to turn around its fortunes. Our journalist produced a strong story talking about the journey so far and the principal’s promise to make the once struggling school Ofsted-rated Outstanding.

Our first attempt at gaining publicity for the school resulted in a front page splash on this week’s Enfield Independent newspaper – an incredible result for a school which has not featured in the press for some time.
