Communicating with parents and staff through news magazines

One of the products we produce that we are very proud of is the school news magazine.

Sigma News

Our magazines bring together news from throughout a term from within our schools and give our clients a way of sharing lots of positive stories with their parents, staff and community.

We handle the whole process, from gathering information for the news articles, collecting photos and writing the articles to designing the magazine pages, printing copies and delivering them direct to our clients.

The only time our clients need to get involved is to give any guidance over stories they may want included and approving the completed magazine before it goes off to print.

For our clients, it is a simple, pain-free process. They are happy in the knowledge they will receive a quality, professional publication to communicate their news, achievements and human interest stories.

This year, with Covid-19 seeing the partial closure of all schools, we provided the option of having our magazines produced digitally, to be emailed out to parents.

Providing PR services to multi-academy trust

We hit the ground running in September when it came to getting positive publicity for our school clients.

We work each week with the schools which make up the BMAT multi-academy Trust in Essex and London.

Our journalist visits the primary and secondary schools to gather, write and distribute news stories to the local, regional and education media.

In September, we arranged for BBC Look East to film at BMAT STEM Academy, in Harlow, Essex, to earn them some wonderful publicity as a brand-new school.

School news magazines and internal communications

While schools produce prospectuses to communicate vital facts and figures with interested parents, we believe sharing lots of wonderful news stories is an even better way to sell a school.

That’s where our school news magazines come in. We produce eight or 16-page news magazines for our school clients, packed full with positive news articles and smiley photos of children achieving and happy.

For some of our multi-academy trust clients, we also handle their internal communications by producing an alternative news magazine with updates for colleagues across their organisation.

Take a look at just some of our recent publications, for Trinity Primary Academy in Wood Green, London; the Sigma Trust in north Essex; and Nightingale Academy in Edmonton, London…

At KLC, we take on the entire process of gathering and writing the content, collecting images, designing and printing the publications for our clients. All our clients have to do is approve the design before it goes off to print.

If your school or multi-academy trust could benefit from this kind of communication with existing or prospective parents or its employees, get in touch on to discuss.

Latest school news magazines published

As our school clients packed up for the summer break, parents and staff were given a round-up of the last few months via our news magazines.

We produce news magazines for our school clients to keep their communities informed of the many wonderful projects, achievements and news items their children are involved with.

Our journalist visits the schools on a regular basis to collect and write articles and then we work with our design and print partners to produce glossy, colourful magazines in whatever size, pagination and print run our clients request.

To sign off the end of the school year, our clients the Sigma Trust – which looks after seven schools in north Essex – and Nightingale Academy, in Edmonton, London, distributed the latest KLC publications to parents, staff and stakeholders.

We will now work through the summer break to produce news magazines for two education trust clients with audiences across 12 schools.

If your school communities could benefit from communication in this way, get in touch on to discuss the easy process where we handle every step and simply ask for your approval before print – it’s that simple!

KLC launches another school news magazine

Another of our school clients has signed up to our news magazines.

We produce news magazines for a number of schools, helping them to share their good news and information with students, parents, prospective parents, teachers, staff, stakeholders and the community.

Nightingale Academy, in London, is the latest to commission KLC to produce a news magazine on its behalf.

Issue 1 is available all around the school and community now, while Issue 2 is being put together at the moment for the summer by our journalist, designer and printer.

We have also recently produced the eighth school magazine for Maltings Academy with partner school New Rickstones Academy, in Witham.

If your school could benefit from sharing its good news with its community, get in touch on to find out how easy it is to hand the whole production over to KLC.
