Giving a national voice to school clients

Working with schools, we have a couple of goals we strive to achieve: we want to raise the profile of our schools locally and keep their reputations positive to encourage parents to apply for places; as well as giving our clients a voice on the national education scene.

This month, we have given that voice to two more of our client schools with publicity within the pages of national magazine Teach Secondary.

Our client Helena Mills CBE is CEO of BMAT multi-academy trust, with primary and secondary schools in Essex and London. She was keen to voice her views about social media and the place it has – or may not have – in the industry. We secured a whole page in the magazine for Helena to comment. Take a look here..

We are also regularly asked to provide mock lesson plans from experts around the industry to be shared in the magazine. This month, it was the turn of our client school Thomas Lord Audley School, in Colchester, Essex, giving the school a chance to share its expertise on a national scale. Have a read here…

KLC news magazines keep parents in touch with client schools

Each term, we produce news magazines to keep parents up-to-date with what is happening in their child’s school. Individual schools and multi-academy trusts love being able to show their parents all of the wonderful things being achieved within their schools and by their pupils. Our magazines are a great way of doing that.

Our journalist, designer and printer work together to take the whole operation out of the hands of our clients, liaising at the beginning and at the end to ensure a smooth operation with appropriate, lively, positive content.

These are just some of the most recent news magazines we have produced, for Trinity Primary Academy, in Wood Green, London; The Sigma Trust, in north Essex; the BMAT multi-academy trust, in Essex and east London; and Nightingale Academy, in Edmonton, London.

If you are looking at new ways of communicating with your parents, get in touch on words@kellylouiseclark.co.uk to discuss our school news magazines.

School news magazines and internal communications

While schools produce prospectuses to communicate vital facts and figures with interested parents, we believe sharing lots of wonderful news stories is an even better way to sell a school.

That’s where our school news magazines come in. We produce eight or 16-page news magazines for our school clients, packed full with positive news articles and smiley photos of children achieving and happy.

For some of our multi-academy trust clients, we also handle their internal communications by producing an alternative news magazine with updates for colleagues across their organisation.

Take a look at just some of our recent publications, for Trinity Primary Academy in Wood Green, London; the Sigma Trust in north Essex; and Nightingale Academy in Edmonton, London…

At KLC, we take on the entire process of gathering and writing the content, collecting images, designing and printing the publications for our clients. All our clients have to do is approve the design before it goes off to print.

If your school or multi-academy trust could benefit from this kind of communication with existing or prospective parents or its employees, get in touch on words@kellylouiseclark.co.uk to discuss.

National education magazine features by KLC

We are regularly called upon by editors to write features for national education publications.

Working for many years with school clients, handling their PR and communications, our journalists are well placed to produce content in this area.

Take a look at the most recent articles, written by our journalist Kelly Clark, which have appeared in Teach Secondary and Technology & Innovation magazines and tackle topics such as how schools are managing to keep subjects such as music on an ever-challenging curriculum; and how schools are using technology in clever ways to engage parents…

Preparing for a new school year

In just a few days’ time, our schools will once again be full of life and buzzing for a fresh new academic year ahead.

While the summer has meant a break for many students, our client schools have still been busy with summer schools, exam results days and training days which means we have been kept busy, too.

We work closely with schools in and around Essex and London to provide PR services, to produce news magazines and to fill school websites with stories and articles.

Guardian commissions KLC education feature

What a great start to the summer – a commission by the Guardian newspaper for KLC to produce an education feature.

We work with lots of schools as well as education publications to spread the word about the many wonderful and unique things going on in education.

The Guardian commissioned our journalist, Kelly Clark, to produce a feature looking at how schools today are collaborating as a way of saving money and resources.

Latest school news magazines published

As our school clients packed up for the summer break, parents and staff were given a round-up of the last few months via our news magazines.

We produce news magazines for our school clients to keep their communities informed of the many wonderful projects, achievements and news items their children are involved with.

Our journalist visits the schools on a regular basis to collect and write articles and then we work with our design and print partners to produce glossy, colourful magazines in whatever size, pagination and print run our clients request.

To sign off the end of the school year, our clients the Sigma Trust – which looks after seven schools in north Essex – and Nightingale Academy, in Edmonton, London, distributed the latest KLC publications to parents, staff and stakeholders.

We will now work through the summer break to produce news magazines for two education trust clients with audiences across 12 schools.

If your school communities could benefit from communication in this way, get in touch on words@kellylouiseclark.co.uk to discuss the easy process where we handle every step and simply ask for your approval before print – it’s that simple!

Glowing national publicity for school client

We are thrilled with this three-page glowing report in a national publication on client school Clacton County High School, arranged by KLC.

We invited the editor of national education magazine Teach Secondary to visit our client school to write an in-depth feature on her views of what she found at the Sigma Trust secondary.

Our journalist escorted the editor and photographer around the school as every aspect of the teaching and learning and future plans was put under the microscope.
